Trabalho científico do Prof. Freitas-Magalhães referenciado na revista americana The Police Chief

A revista científica da International Association of Chiefs of Police, nos Estados Unidos, referencia, no seu último número, o trabalho científico "Effect of Look in Detection of Lies: Empirical Study with Portuguese", desenvolvido pelo docente da UFP e Director do Laboratório de Expressão Facial da Emoção (FEELab), da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde (FCS), Prof. Doutor Freitas-Magalhães.

O trabalho é referenciado no artigo "Perspective on Neurolinguistic Programing" (NLP) da autoria de Gary I. Wilson e no âmbito da Psicologia Forense, particularmente dos métodos e técnicas de interrogatório.

"Another study involving gender and detection of lies by Armindo Freitas-Magalhaes notes that Portuguese “women, regardless of age, are more assertive in the identification and recognition of lies, particularly in the age bracket of 25 to 45 years.” This gives credence to the hypothesis that women are better at detecting deception than men". (pp.46-47).

De referir que o trabalho científico referenciado foi apresentado na Convenção Anual da American Psychological Association (APA), que decorreu em Ontário, no Canadá)
